Iowa Women's Archives (University of Iowa)
Women's Suffrage in Iowa: A Digital Collection

The Iowa Women's Archives in the University of Iowa Libraries has received a grant of 14,300 from the State Historical Society, Inc., an Iowa foundation that promotes historical research and writing, to digitize documents pertaining to the women's suffrage movement in Iowa. The outcome will be an online collection of suffrage documents, a resource page linking to other repositories and sources, and an online exhibit. Most of the documents are from collections in the Iowa Women's Archives, with additional materials from the rich suffrage collections of the State Historical Society of Iowa.

For a brief history of the women's suffrage movement in Iowa and examples of the resources that will be available in summer 2011 through the University of Iowa's Iowa Digital Library, take a look at the exhibit "Women's Suffrage in Iowa: A Sneak Peek of a New Digital Collection" at http://www.lib.uiowa.edu/iwa/suffrage.html .
