This document showcase highlights materials from the Archives' collections that demonstrate the legal position of women in early New York. The showcase also includes a segment specifically dedicated to using these documents in the classroom curriculum.

This guide to women's collections was created after a survey of over 40,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. Topical areas include private lives, women's associations, health issues, and women's rights.
